about

"Lasher" was my magnum opus as an ear-musician teenager fan:boi. originally penned 13th May 1996, on the 80th birthday of my grandfather, surrogate father, and the cerebral love of my life. my own personal anti_hero.
two weeks later, he passed away. i was fourteen years old. it was the first taste of the banality and tragedy of death, of change, of soul-particles in a flesh-chassis so loved lifting back into the stratos, to continue that energy anew.

it began to rain outside the windows of the haunted house of my youth, so i began to add more pieces to this song.

then my surrogate mother, nanny, passed away 1st September 2002, when i was 20 years old. she opened a path to the next familial generation.
so i augmented a new piece to this song, as it began to rain outside of my apartment windows.

a year later, my mother was struck very ill. i lazed around her house as she was convalescing in the hospital, i began augmenting more pieces to this song.

my mother died 26th April 2006.
after that, "Lasher" became "Lasher:Requiem", and no more pieces were added to him.

in memory of the three most prominent figures that helped raise me into the woman i am today, i re-recorded this song last year.

he is my baby; he is my torture. my tragedy. my memories. that life bleeds into death and all cycles continue. As Above, So Below.

my brother, david, is the only being on Earth who comprehends this stain; he is part of my threading into this tapestry. this message goes out to him, where ever you are, thank you.

and that, at the end of the day, we're still fucking finally alive.

fight. keep fighting. find something you love and hold onto it.

i love you, davey. thanks for standing beside me as the surviving members of the final five.
